The continent itself has suffered from undersupply. Excluding the UK, there are 680 million people across Europe and approximately 4,350 self-storage facilities. The UK has a population of 67 million and approximately 4,350 self storage facilities. Comparing these statistics to the USA there are 336 million people and approximately 50,000 self storage facilities.

The European market remains fragmented, with the top 10 operators controlling just 25% of those facilities.

As investment continues to flow in, the industry is expected to consolidate, raising profitability throughout. Growth is expected to continue over the next few years, giving investors lots of opportunities to earn stable returns.
