Project Summary
Plus Space Storage is situated in the heart of Southwark, Central London, within a railway arch that dates back to the 1800s. The unique location, close to the iconic Shard and surrounded by historic buildings, provided an excellent opportunity to transform the space into a modern self storage facility.
The customer approached Kuboid with a clear vision: to create a fully unmanned, remote-operated self storage facility incorporating cutting-edge access control and security systems. He had conducted thorough research, understood the market, and developed a solid business plan.
With nearly 20 years of experience in the self storage industry, Kuboid had established strong, trusted relationships with key industry professionals, PTI Security Systems and DSOC, which played a crucial role in the project’s success. PTI provided the access control system, allowing customers to rent storage units online and access them via an app. This modern technology was essential for an unmanned facility. Additionally, the Pro-Edge latch, which sets a new standard for secure and efficient access control for self storage.
Similarly, DSOC’s remote monitoring station manages alarms from intruders, fire, and CCTV systems. The CCTV systems capture visuals and sound for a clearer understanding of the situation. DSOC operators then promptly respond, ensuring optimal security management.
From the very beginning, Kuboid worked closely with PTI and DSOC, ensuring all parties were aligned to deliver exactly what the customer envisioned. The project’s outcome exceeded the customer’s expectations, demonstrating that even the most challenging spaces can be transformed into thriving businesses with the right expertise and approach.
"It’s important to give the customer the choice. Rather than pigeonhole them into one corner and say you must do it this way, you can show them their options.”
