Project Summary

Tom Scott of Guardian Self Store had been aware of Kuboid for some years before moving into self storage and had been impressed by the scope of works which could be delivered. When he acquired a piece of waste land with warehouse space and decided to set up a self-storage business, he didn’t hesitate to get in touch.

Tom was impressed by the way Kuboid took care of the construction and delivery of the project, including the mezzanines, lighting, partitioning, and building control, which freed up his time to concentrate on developing the business. He also appreciated the advice and guidance they offered as newcomers to the industry.

The Guardian Self Store Berkeley site launched in 2019 and quickly became a success with a high volume of repeat business and exceptional reviews. There has also been a huge benefit for their customers by offering 24/7 access, allowing them to access their items in their own time. Due to the success of this first self storage facility, Guardian have since appointed Kuboid to deliver a second facility in Cirencester, with several more planned.

"Unless you are an industry expert in self storage there are that many aspects to it that it’s much easier to go with one company who have a long background in it and can offer a turnkey solution and that’s Kuboid.”

– Tom Scott, Managing Director, Guardian Self Store
