Project Summary

The Place 4 Self Storage partnered with Kuboid once again to deliver its third and largest facility to date in Swindon, Wiltshire. Building on the success of the Petersfield and Alton sites, the project marked the next phase in the growth of the lifestyle-led self storage brand. The newly acquired industrial building had been unused for several years and required extensive refurbishment before fit-out could begin, presenting both structural and operational challenges from the outset.

Working closely with the client to redesign and adapt the internal layout around existing building constraints, the project required modifications to the mezzanine design to comply with building regulations, including wider grid spacing and larger structural columns. Kuboid delivered a full internal fit-out, including a three-storey mezzanine structure, fire protection systems including dry risers, and a mix of domestic and commercial storage units with increased 3m system heights and larger 2.3m high doors.

The result is a fully transformed flagship facility that now serves as the largest site within The Place 4 Self Storage portfolio. Delivered through a continued collaborative partnership, the Swindon project demonstrates the scalability of the platform and the strength of Kuboid’s relationship-led approach. With additional sites already under consideration, the facility provides another strong foundation for the brand’s continued expansion across the UK.
