When an existing tenant vacated one of his industrial buildings, Managing Director Chris Betts saw the opportunity he’d been waiting for. Having explored self storage several years earlier, he recognised the empty unit as the ideal location to diversify his property portfolio and bring his vision for a premium, community-focused facility to life. The building’s restricted internal height presented a significant challenge from the outset, with several suppliers hesitant about whether a commercially viable layout could be achieved without compromising quality.

Kuboid worked closely with Chris to engineer a bespoke solution that unlocked the full potential of the building while remaining fully compliant with building regulations. By carefully balancing floor levels, partition heights and circulation space, the design team created a three-level storage system that maximised capacity without compromising the customer experience. Increased partition heights and a well-planned lighting scheme ensured the facility retained an open, modern feel despite the height constraints, with decisions made quickly throughout thanks to a close working relationship between the design team and the client.

The result is a modern, premium self storage facility that stands out from the local market, maximising storage capacity within a challenging footprint while delivering the high-quality finish Chris envisioned from the start.
