The Self Storage Association
Established in 1995, the Self Storage Association (SSA UK) is the principal trade association representing the self storage industry in the UK. With over 600 members, including both operators and suppliers, the association seeks to promote best practice and facilitate the growth of one of the fastest growing alternative asset based industries in the UK.
Industry Snapshot
There are around 2,231 self storage facilities in the UK, offering 55.5 million square feet of rentable space, with more than 80% of these facilities being SSA UK members (Cushman & Wakefield/SSA UK Industry Report, 2023). Strong affiliations with the Federation of European Self Storage Associations (FEDESSA) allow The SSA UK to expand resources and services as the industry continues to mature.
